What's Up This Weekend?

The sun is shining, the temperature is just short of warm and there is great stuff to do this weekend. Can't wait to get started celebrating living here on Earth. The convertible top will be down.

Thursday, tonight, The Randys do the happy hour at Rumba followed by Bucktown Kickback. The Earthday festivities start with a benefit show at The Grarage for the "Picture This '09" group that is organizing the Saturday worksites and the Sunday festival in Goodale Park. Eric Nassau, Stretch Lefty, Tin Hearts, Dying Breed and Paper Airplane do the honors. Ghengis Green is at Oldfield's and RFTO Bandwagon is at The Summit.

Friday, Jen Miller is at Dick's, The Andy Shaw Band CD release is at The Thirsty Ear and Eric Nassau's CD release witll be at The Treehouse with Megan Palmer, Tin Hearts and You're So Bossy. I and my good buddy will be cruising down to Athens to see Wilco. Roger that.

Saturday, I should be working one of the Earthday sites but I will be returning just in time to attend the first Clippers game at Huntington Park. Later, after exploring a venue called The Warehouse at the corner of Hudson and N. Fourth in search of Comfest talent, I will be found at Skully's in Gil Mantera's Party Dream. There is also the Mojoflo CD release at Rumba with The Floorwalkers and Stretch Lefty.

Sunday, I will be stage managing at the Gazebo in Goodale Park for the Earthday Festival. Starts at noon with Bum Wealthy, then Erika Carey and the Calamaties, Heartbreak Orchestra, Couch Forts, Flotation Walls, Tin Armor and ends up at 6 PM with Two Cow Garage. That is a line-up I'm proud to say I had a hand in choosing. Stop by the Comfest booth and sign up for your volunteer shift while they're still hot.

With a Sky Blue Sky. mark
